Describe a Table?

Hi there,

As a newbie to DAXStudio I've been blow away by the "MDSCHEMA_MEASURES" query to very succinctly document all my measures.

So moving onto another topic then, can DAXStudio "describe" a table? I.e. I have a DateKey table in PowerBI with a whole lot of calculated columns - could DAXStudio assist me in documenting the queries that make up these calculated columns?

Hi there.

Yes, you can do that. It's all described - as much as I know - in "The Definitive Guide to DAX" by Alberto Ferrari and Marco Russo. Hope this helps.

I think there also is a Excel workbook created by Kasper de Jonge that can do that. And the last one... There is an Excel add-in called "PP Utilities" that can extract meta-information from models (but can't remember whether it's only from Excel models or other as well).

Best,
