Release Notes

This version adds support for installing the addin into Excel 2013 including support for connecting to PowerPivot models.

Note: the Query Table feature is not supported against Excel 2013 PowerPivot models. This feature still works in Excel 2010 or when connected to a Tabular Server, but it was never officially supported by Microsoft and has proved to be unstable in Excel 2013 and has been disabled as it can cause occasional model corruption.

However Excel 2013 does support this method of doing the same thing manually. And we are trying to see if we can hook into this mechanism to re-enable this functionality in a future release.

Reviews for this release

Excellent DAX query editor! Much better option then writing my DAX queries in a text box control and passing the query to the data model via VBA. That is what I was doing before using this tool. I find the metadata tab and function tab very useful but I don't understand the DMV tab. I am sure if I did I would find that tab very useful as well.

This installs and it works but I have .NET BIO installed and it puts the DAX Studio there. I don't know why but I'll bring this up in the forums.

Installs but cannot locate PowerPivot connection in Excel 2013 workbook, even after reviewing discussions and issues sections of codeplex site. I would so like to see it work!

Responding to people who cannot install: this place is for rating the product, not for questions (instead go to the discussions tab). When people type in this type of response, even in the entry box it says "This space is for reviews only". But to answer the multiple questions, go to "Excel Options" and "Customize the Ribbon" (assuming Excel 2013 Pro Plus) and then activate "Add Ins" -- you will then see the DAX Studio.
